First Fridays: Back for More
First Fridays only come around so often. Well, actually they come around once a month. But we’ve been chomping at the bit ever since the last one. LB Food Review will be out again in full force this Friday, April 2nd, for First Fridays on Atlantic Avenue in Bixby Knolls!
It’s that time again. This Friday, put on your walking shoes (or your bus-riding shoes) and get out to Atlantic Avenue in Bixby Knolls. All the shops and restaurants will have their doors open wide, with visual and performing arts for you to enjoy as you experience a great part of our city.
LB Food Review will be out there again, following our first experience last month that was so awesome we just couldn’t miss out. We’ll be meeting up at The Factory around 7:00PM for a few beers and some locally grown food goodness, so be sure to catch up with us somewhere along the way. You can always find us by following us on Twitter.
It seems the hot spot to finish up the night is going to be Nino’s Italian Restaurant and their excellent cocktail lounge, which of course doubles during First Fridays as The Art Bar, with a different local artist featured each month. The bar is literally transformed into a lively art gallery, and thankfully the alcohol still flows.
We’ll see you there this Friday, April 2nd. Of course, you don’t have to follow us. There’s tons to see and do up and down Atlantic during First Fridays. For the full scoop on this month’s happenings, check out First Fridays on Facebook!

Well hi there,
I’m afraid your First Friday is a bit too rich for me. I am a food writer living in Long Beach, but I mostly write about food you can buy and prepare at home.
I am currently the national tea examiner on Examiner.com. I am also an event organize for the Los Angeles Tea Meetup group. I will be organizing tea events in Long Beach if anyone is interested.
Do you ever have any news about food that is not about going out and restaurants?

We will be starting a weekly feature about our kitchen adventures involving affordable local sources here in Long Beach. However, the main focus of the site is going to continue to be eating out in Long Beach for the foreseeable future.
Have you been to First Fridays? They are free to attend, and the Big Red Bus provides free transportation up and down Atlantic Avenue to the many shops and restaurants. You can go enjoy a night out, catch a glimpse of many local businesses, and have a great time people watching without spending a dime…
